where can i get torsion bars for a gmc truck?
i want to replace them. there not broken but one of my torsion bars is different and cranked all the way out. i believe it was a replacement. i want to throw on 285s or 305 sized tires on and need to crank them a inch higher. i dont have a preference on stock or aftermarket. it would be nice having stronger or longer bars though.

On the 88-98, any torsion bars from a fullsize truck/suv were interchangeable, just the spring rates were different; so you could put 1-ton torsion bars in a 1/2 ton truck or Tahoe…
I believe this is still applicable on the ‘99+ newer body style trucks. You could contact the parts dept at the dealership for spring rate codes and then go find you another truck/suv to get them out of.
You can also get factory replacements from GM, or some lift kit manufacturers also carry torsion bars that can be installed on the factory suspension (they just have higher spring rates).
There is only one length (per body style). For example, the ‘88-98 all used the same length bars, just different thickness.
